This oil comes at a premium price, because the expeller production process is more time consuming and expensive.
How is canola oil extracted?
Unlike expeller pressed oils, regular ¡°plain old¡± canola oil is taken out of the seeds of the canola plant through solvent extraction. Oil molecules are naturally found inside the canola seeds, and the oil has to be removed in some way. There are two possible ways to do this:
