What type of oil is processed in our refinery?

Our refinery is a state-of-the-art multicomponent and, multiprocessing facility that processes both seed oils (Canola, Sunflower and Linseed) and tropical oils (palm oil and palm oil derivatives; palm kernel oil and palm kernel oil derivatives; and Coconut oil).

What is crude palm oil refining?

To prevent iron oxidation, the storage tank is lined in a suitable protective coating. The oil at this stage is called the crude palm oil (CPO). The aim of refining is to convert the CPO to quality edible oil by removal of objectionable impurities to the desired levels in the most efficient manner.

Where is palm oil produced?

Most palm oil is currently produced in South East Asia, even though the oil palm is originally an African crop. The two largest producers are Malaysia and Indonesia, who together account for about 85% of the world¡¯s palm oil production. Indonesia is the world¡¯s largest producer of palm oil, followed by Malaysia.

How is refined palm oil produced?

To produce refined palm oil (RPO), the objectionable impurities in the CPO are removed to obtain the required levels using two main methods: chemical or alkali refining and physical refining methods. Either of these is followed by fractionation as a final purification process to separate the oil into stearin and olein components.
